Zooming In 5 (Season 2)
My late season muzzleloader hunt took place in northern Iowa, just 10 miles from the Minnesota border. As this overhead view clearly shows, the terrain in this part of the state is fairly flat and mostly open. The majority of the cover here is found along this narrow river bottom—which just so happens to be where I was hunting.

Zooming In 11 (Season 2)
My hunt for that giant Iowa 9-pointer took place in the far western part of the state. As this satellite view shows, the environment here actually is a blend of the two main types of terrain found across much of Iowa.

Zooming In 10 (Season 1)
As Scott explained during his Iowa bowhunt, he was hunting from a stand situated smack dab in the middle of a natural funnel. While fairly long, the chunk of timber that compromises Scott’s hunting area is not overly wide.
